You substitute x^2 for g(x) and 3x +5 for f(x). Then you realize that d is the right answer. The denominator cannot equal to 0. so you set f(x) to 0. So f(x) =0

3x +5 = 0

3x = -5

× = -5/3 therefore x cannot equal -5/3
