1 hour =60 minutes
ratio
12 miles per 60 minutes
12/60=1/5
1 miles per 5 minues
1:5=x:48
1/5=x/48
multiply both sides by 5*48
48=5x
divide both sides by 5
9.6=x
answe ris 9.6 miles
