M = (no. of moles of solute)/(V of the solution (L)).

∴ M = (mass/molar mass)of KNO₃/(V of the solution (L)).

∴ M = (mass/molar mass)of KNO₃/(V of the solution (L)) = (53.27 g / 101.1 g/mol)/(0.461 L) = 1.143 M.
