A farmer noticed that his chickens were loose and were running around with the cows in the cow pen. He quickly counted 100 heads and 270 legs. How many chickens did he have and how many cows?

There are 65 chickens and 35 cows

65 x 2(legs) = 130
35 x 4(legs) = 140
130 + 140 = 270 (legs counted)

65 + 35 = 100 (heads counted)
