Its the western point of the mainland of the Europe and is located at a latitude of 38º 47´north and longitude 9º 30 W. Forms a part of the Sinatra Mountain Range, of mainland Portugal and is 42 km west of the city of the Lisbon and has an elevation of 140 meters from mean sea level. Evidence of the granite here shows a strong coastal erosion.
