Let's assume the number as x .

15% of x = [tex]\dfrac{x \times 15}{100} [/tex]

→ [tex]\dfrac{3x}{20} [/tex]

So after reducing 15% the number will be 6154 .

→ x - 3x/20 = 6154

→ 17x/20 = 6154

→ 17x = 6154 × 20

→ 17x = 123080

→ x = 123080/17

  • → x = 7240

So the number is 7240
