1. Distribute 6: 5+6w+48=59
2. Add like terms: 6w+53=59
3. Subtract 53 on both sides: 6w=6
4. Dived by 6 on both sides: w=6

5+6(W+8)=59
-5 -5
6(W+8)=54

Step 2:divide both sides by 6
6(W+8)=54
W+8=9

Step 3: isolate W by subtracting 8 form both sides
