y = 4x - 5 .........(i)

y = 3x + 4.........(ii)

Equating equations (i) and (ii)

Equating the ys.

4x - 5 = 3x + 4

4x - 3x = 4 + 5

x = 9


Recall y = 4x - 5,           x = 9

y = 4*9 - 5 = 36 - 5 = 31

Therefore, x = 9, y = 31
