Mansa Musa was the former of Islam and he was born in Mecca but was kicked out for teaching people about Islam and so he went to Meda and gathered an army and went back to Mecca to fight the non-muslims and on the way there he threw out gold dust to the cities he went through and he fought the Meccans and won so they converted to Islam and followed him he was a great leader in Islam and still is. :)
