Density is a quantity derived from the mass and volume  

Density is the ratio of mass per unit volume  

Density formula:

ρ = density  

m = mass  

v = volume  

Density of water = 1 g/ml

So mass of water :

= density x volume

= 1 g/ml x 100 ml

= 100 g

So total mass of solution :

=mass sugar+mass water

= 5 g + 100 g

= 105 g
