Answer: When ammonia is passed throughFeSO4 solution, Fe3+ gets precipitated giving dirty green colour.

Explanation Due to theformation of ammonobasic mercuric nitrate and finely divided mercury,ammonia turns Mercurous nitrate paper black when passed through it.
