Let the number is = X

Two thirds of the number = 2x/3

According to the problem given,

x+ 2x/3 = 55

( 3x + 2x ) /3 = 55

5x /3 = 55

x = ( 55 × 3 ) /5

x = 11 × 3

x = 33

Therefore,

Required number = x = 33
