7 more than than the quotient of a number and 9: [tex]\dfrac{x}{9}+7[/tex]

It is given that, 7 more than the quotient of a number and 9 is 2.

[tex]\dfrac{x}{9}+7=2[/tex]

Multiply both sides by 9.
