This is PEMDAS as well as order of operations and or  parentheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction. Multiplication and division go together, so you do whichever one comes first. Same goes to addition and subtraction. A way to remember the order is Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally.
