1.55y -(5y-17)/100 * (100) = (0.02)*(100)
1.55y -(5y-17) = 2

Simply both sides of the equation
-3.45y + 17 = 2

Subtract 17 from both sides
-3.45y + 17-17 = 2-17
-3.45y = -15

Divide both sides by -3.45.
-3.45y = -15
-3.45 -3.45
