The fundamental property of matter that can be either positive or negative is?

This is a weird question; this answer is my personal opinion:

The only thing about matter that can be positive or negative is
its net electric charge ... if it HAS one at all.  A lump of matter
can also be neutral, if its elemental positive and negative charges
are equal/balanced.
