We have such inequality
1.2x+8<9.6          /-8 subtract 8 both sides
1.2x<9.6-8
1.2x<1.6             /:1.2
x<[tex] \frac{16}{10}: \frac{12}{10} \\ x< \frac{16}{10}* \frac{10}{12} \\ x< \frac{16}{12} \\ x<1 \frac{4}{12} \\ x<1 \frac{1}{3} [/tex]
