limiting reactants is the reactant that will be consumed first in a chemical reaction. in automobile, the primary reaction would be combustion reaction. the reactants would be oxygen and a fuel, since oxygen is readily available in the air, oxygen is not the limiting reactant. that is why fuel is always what we are monitoring in our automobiles, because it will dictates if the reaction can still occur or not.
