Does not matter whether it is a huge story or just a novel - the most important thing is how things are presented to a reader. In the story "Homesick" you can see and feel what happens through character's eyes as author uses first-person point of view which keeps author totally close to the character that speaks to a reader, telling all the feelings and thoughts he come up with.
