In what conditions were Africans transported to the Americas?

They were transported by ship. Some slaves were sick and had realy bad infections.So the sickness would spread from one person to another. And it smelled very badly from people having to use the bathroom. All they could do was just pee or poop where they were. And on the way to America, some slaves died from diseases and sicknesses.
