The hard palate and soft palate are used in the mechanical digestion of food. i.e., chewing and swallowing. They help in more digestion, by breaking down the food in small utilizable parts. Hard palate separate mouth and nose, which helps in breathing and eating at the same time. The soft palate is located at the back of the mouth and is composed of soft muscular tissue.
