If the hexagon's perimeter is 48 inches, then 48/6 means that every side measures 8 inches.

The formula for the area of a hexagon is A = (3√3)/2 * a^2

a was found to be 8 inches, so when you plug it in, the area of the hexagon is 166.28 square inches.

The answer is 96√3.
