Everlasting life was believed to be achieved in a place called the field of reeds and life there was thought to be much like our life on earth. Pharaohs would need many of their material possessions such as jewelry, weapons, furniture and clothing so these things were buried by Egyptians in the pyramid with the pharaohs preserved body.
