The sum of two numbers is 46 . the larger number is 12 more than the smaller number. what are the numbers?

x + y = 46
x = y + 12

y + 12 + y = 46
2y + 12 = 46
2y = 46 - 12
2y = 34
y = 34/2
y = 17

x = y + 12
x = 17 + 12
x = 29

so ur 2 numbers are : 29 and 17

Let the larger number be represented by L and the smaller by S

L = 12 + S

L + S = 46
12 + S + S = 46
2S = 34
S = 17

The two numbers are 17 and 29
