The polar body is not visible in the prepared slide of the cat ovary.
Polar bodies are small haploid cells that are formed concomitantly as an egg cell during oogenesis, but they do not have the ability to be fertilized. During oogenesis, polar bodies serves as dumping ground for extra sets of chromosomes, thus riding the body of defective set of chromosomes.
Polar bodies are not seen in the prepared cat ovary because, the ovary has to go through meiosis before polar body can be formed.
