Find the angle of 1, which would be the same as angle of 5 (alternate interior angles applicable to parallel lines). 

38+<1=180 degrees (<1 just represents angle one) 
<1=180-38 
<1=142 degrees 

Therefore, the angle of 5 is 142 degrees as well.
