Heat  cannot add  energy  to   chemical reaction  in  a  light  stick. in  the  light   stick  reaction release  energy  which  produce  light.  This  reaction  is  called  chemiluminescence which  produce  light  without  heat.Since  heat  is  not  produced  it  cannot   add  energy.
