By deficion the volume of a cylinder is given by
 V = pi * r ^ 2 * h
 where
 r: radius of the base
 h: height
 Clearing the radio we have
 r = root ((V) / (pi * h))
 substituting the values
 r = root ((628) / (pi * (8))) = 5.0 cm

 the radius of the base is 5.0 cm
