Systemic circulation provides blood supply to the body tissues. It also brings oxygen and nutrients to the cells and removes waste products and carbon dioxide. It carries oxygenated blood away from the left ventricle of the heart to the body and returns the deoxygenated blood back to the right atrium of the heart.
