if [tex]x=2,y=1[/tex] the formula becomes:
[tex]-3(2)^2 + 2\times1^2 + 5(2) - 2 + 5(2)^2 - 3\times1^ 2\\=(-12+2)+(10-2)+(20-3)\\=(-10+8)+17\\=-2+17\\=15[/tex]
