Randy decided not to take part in the rumble because he had grown tired of fighting and he didn't hold Ponyboy responsible for Bob's death. Ponyboy, on the other hand, hated Randy because he puts him on the same level as bob and socs. He blames them for Bob's death, the fact that they all need to run, and for the injuries Johnny received.
