Assuming that this is referring to the same list of options that was posted before with this question, the correct response would be "to live on farms," since they in fact moved north to escape the farm life and to live in cities.
(This from my test and I got it right) The Answer is, D) "They could live in integrated neighborhoods throughout the North."
