When a fatty acid is saturated, it means that the fatty acid chain is
predominantly single bonds between its carbon atoms. Saturated fat is made up
of glycerol and fatty acids where each half of the bond is attached to a hydrogen atom. They have
usually higher melting points that they tend to be solids at room temperatures.
