Ok so to figure out the area of a triangle its in this case 4 times 2 then divided by 2 so the 2 triangles are (4 times 2= 8, 8 divided by 2= 4) 4 so the area so far if each triangle is 4 (4+4=8) would be 8 then the rectangle in the middle is 5 inches becuase the rectangle+ triangle is 7 so its -2 from the trinagle making it 5 so now you have 5 times 4 which equals 20 now you have 20+8=28 so your answer is 28.
