This pattern forms an arithmetic sequence with the first term [tex]a_1=5[/tex]. The difference between two consecutive terms of this sequence is 6. The rule to calculate the other term of the sequence is is to add 6 to the previous term. This can be archived as shown in the calculations below,

[tex]a_2=a_0+6=5+6=11\\\\a_3=a_2+6=11+6=17\\\\a_4=a_3+6=17+6=23\\\\a_5=a_4+6=23+6=29[/tex]

The first terms of this sequence are 5, 11, 17, 23,29.
