I believe that Gelidium amansii is used for the culture of bacteria and fungi. This helps humans by being able to develop vaccines and medicines for diseases. It is an economically important species of red algae mostly found and harvested in shallow coast of many countries from the east Asia. This algae is used to make agar, as well as being served as part of a salad in producing regions.
