The Connective tissue is found throughout the body and the gubernaculum is the connective tissue cord that guides the descent of the testes from gonad floor to floor of abdominopelvic cavity during development in the male. It is vital that the testes will descent for it is essential for fertility, the testes cannot produce sperm if they are trapped in the abdominal cavity.
