The Northwest Indian War inflicted more casualties to the United States military and civilians than the battles of Geronimo, Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull, Cochise and Red Cloud combined. This ten year war was a fight for control over the Northwest Territory with the British supporting the Native American tribes.
