The Buganda Empire is known today as Uganda.

To be more specific, the Buganda Empire is a subnational kingdom-the largest of the traditional kingdoms today- within Uganda. It comprises all of Uganda's central region, including its capital Kampala. The former kingdom was bounded on the north by the Kingdom of Bunyoro and on the east by the Nile River.
