Why did the people of Boston dislike the British soldiers

British soldiers were allowed by their commanders to take lodgings in Boston homes with out paying the citizen who provided. The soldiers also treated the citizens harshly and showed them no respect for the most part. On the other hand the soldiers only did what they were told.
